Herford Urlica, popularly known as Pastor Ford, was born in the Indian Silicon Valley Bengaluru in South India. His godly parents nurtured him in the fear of the Lord. He gave his heart to the Lord at the tender age of 12 at a Vacation Bible School. As he grew up, God lifted him higher and higher, enabling him to excel in every area of his life. God also granted him academic favor helping Pastor Ford to achieve 2nd rank at the All India Professional Trade exam. His skill with the machines took him to Singapore where, following a clear call from God to pursue full time ministry, he resigned from his lucrative job. And started a life in ministry anew. He fully yielded to His call to be an Evangelist. Pastor Ford has been a witness to the manifold ways in which God’s power has been witness in his vast and expansive ministry. Pastor Ford’s growth on the global ministry circuit is anything but a miracle. Grown up in a lower middle class family there was no way that this technical expert will rub shoulders with giants in God’s kingdom like Myles Munroe, Jesse Duplantis, Perry Stone, Kieth Moore and Randy Gilbert, just to name a few. But that’s what Jesus did to this young man, catapulting him to the top league, to minister shoulder to shoulder to hundreds and thousands of people across the globe. His penetrating Word and powerful preaching has wrought salvation to hundreds of souls in India and abroad. His ministry is also marked by miracles of healing and deliverance from satan’s bondage. Pastor Ford travels extensively in India and abroad, teaching and preaching both in indoor leadership seminars and open-air crusades. God has specially gifted him to minister to top leaders and pastors across denominations. He is a frequent speaker at revival meetings. Another key area in which God’s abundant blessings have been flowing freely is in his ministry to families; he has helped build many broken families and restored relationships that were under intense strain of suffering permanent damage. He is a passionate advocate of strong families and leaves no stone unturned to mend broken hearts with the glue of the Holy Spirit.

New Vision, Deeper Revelation

In 1996, God gave a new vision to Pastor Ford to intensify his teaching ministry, anointing him to teach the Word of God with deeper revelation. That vision led to the founding of Faith Landmarks Bible Institute (FLBI) whose missions including starting a short term residential Bible school to equip the young and old to do the work for the Kingdom of God. The residential programs at Faith Landmark Bible Institute offers a diploma in Christian mission and diploma in theology has attracted students from all over India and neighboring countries. FLBI graduates pursue their passion into full time ministry including planting churches in villages, towns and cities. Almost all the FLBI alumni are serving the Lord in various ministries as outlined in Eph 4: 11: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.

Another call to build God’s Kingdom

In 2004, there was an epiphany moment. After several years of travelling ministry of teaching and preaching, God gave Pastor Ford another call to shift gears in his ministry. For several years, Pastor Ford would spend almost 12 hours every day at his Bible training centre FLBI, more than half of that time in expounding the Word of God to rookies in the ministry. As a Bible teacher, Pastor Ford travelled every year to minister to His people in the tiny Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan situated on the Indo-Nepal border. Ford’s epiphany moment in 2004 came without any notice; it was almost like the road-to-Damascus experience that transformed the ministry trajectory for Saul in the first century AD. “Ford, what are you doing?” God asked, stopping him in his tracks. But Pastor Ford, gaining composure and courage, gently responded by simply saying, “Well, Lord, you know I am very busy serving you.” God asked him to suspend whatever he was busy with and simply wait for further instructions from above. And God had put him on wait for almost 15 months during which time he curtailed his earlier activities sparked by the 1992 India Independence Day (August 15) call. God had startled him with a call on India’s Independence Day in 1992 but this time the door bell rang in God’s waiting room on another Independence Day August 15, 2005. And when Pastor Ford answered the call, God simply told him, “Ford, Go, build my Kingdom.” This was another key turning point. A real defining moment in Pastor Ford’s ministry. The vision changed, mission strategies were tweaked. Pastor Ford entered a different realm, into the Kingdom mindset. Armed with this fresh call in his life, he continues to build the Kingdom of God wherever He takes him both in India and abroad. Pastor Ford is firing on all cylinders to press on toward his only aim and goal in life to build and establish the Kingdom of God, in India and throughout the world.
